Waited for her all night but…: Delhi gang-rape survivor's husband recalls what happened on May 11

The Hindustan Times published coverage of the survivor's husband's account, including his remarks about waiting for her all night and being updated by her at the Rani Bagh police station.

The accused were sent to judicial custody.

Two men were arrested in connection with the case. They were identified as Umesh Kumar and Ramendra Kumar, both originally from Uttar Pradesh and in their late 30s.

Upon arrival at the police station, her statement was recorded and she was taken to the hospital for treatment; police later arrested the accused in connection with the case.

The survivor called her husband from Rani Bagh police station and asked him to come there, telling him she had been raped and would be giving a statement before the magistrate.

The 30-year-old survivor, who works in Mangolpuri and lives in Pitampura, was allegedly gang-raped by two men inside a private sleeper bus near the B-block bus stand in Saraswati Vihar. The bus transported toward Nangloi, and the accused left her near Nangloi Metro station after the assault.

The survivor's husband described that on Monday they went to her brother's house in Sutanpuri to help him shift houses. He and their daughters returned home, while she stayed back and did not come home that night.
