Announcement of statewide school TD/DPT vaccination drive in UP

April 19, 2026

A statewide school-based Tetanus-Diphtheria (TD) vaccination campaign will be conducted in Uttar Pradesh between April 20 and 30, 2026. The drive will provide the DPT booster dose to eligible schoolchildren to strengthen immunity and prevent infection at the community level. Targets are 23,62,548 children for the DPT dose, 22,88,593 for the TD vaccine for 10-year-olds, and 18,72,242 for the TD vaccine for 16-year-olds, across all government and government-aided schools. Class-wise vaccination will be: DPT-2 for Class 1; TD-10 for Classes 4–5; and TD-16 for Classes 10–11. Children who have not received a TD booster previously can still be vaccinated with TD-10 or TD-16. The vaccine is expected to cause no side effects, though mild fever may occur; medicine will be provided by the ANM. Children will be observed for 30 minutes after vaccination.
