Police at a checkpoint near Nasirbas village on the Delhi–Alwar road signalled a pickup vehicle to stop after receiving information about narcotics being transported. The driver and his associate attempted to flee but were apprehended. 30 plastic sacks of poppy husk were found hidden under 45 sacks of onions; each poppy husk sack weighed about 20.25 kg, totaling 607.5 kg. The contraband has an estimated market value in lakhs of rupees. The two men were identified as Gurdeep Singh and Satpal Singh, residents of Alwar, Rajasthan. The vehicle and narcotics were seized, and an FIR was registered; the investigation into other network members is underway.
