Arrests of three juveniles by All Women Police Station, Krishnagiri, for morphing images, blackmail, and circulation of private videos

May 2026

Officials from the All Women Police Station in Krishnagiri apprehended three juveniles earlier this week on charges of morphing photographs of a 15-year-old schoolgirl, blackmailing her into sharing private photos and videos, and sending them to her father via WhatsApp with a demand for ₹10 lakh. The investigation noted that one of the suspects was the girl’s neighbour, a Class 9 student who had dropped out for more than six months, with two other boys visiting his house. The trio stalked the girl’s social media, created a fake Instagram account, downloaded her images, morphed them into obscene pictures, and used them to coerce her into providing more content. The girl complied out of fear of humiliation, and the three later shared the videos with her father. The number used to demand the ransom was traced to the neighbour, identified as the main perpetrator. The police said the complaint was lodged at the All Women Police Station, Krishnagiri, and the trio were sent to the Observation Home in Salem.
