During the May 11 proceedings, the bench urged the investigating officer to conclude the investigation at the earliest and directed protection for the victim and her children. It ordered the Delhi government to provide free playschool and regular schooling for the victim’s daughters, with all related expenses borne by the education department. The two minor daughters (aged 4 and 1) were to be handed over to the victim-mother, following her discharge. A separate report on the four hospitals was ordered, and the victim was informed she may seek remedies available in law thereafter.

SC suo motu cognisance and directives

April 27, 2026

The Supreme Court took suo motu cognisance of the attack and directed the Delhi Police Commissioner to transfer the probe to a senior officer (preferably a woman). It also ordered NALSA to release an interim Rs 3 lakh for the victim and noted that the victim had been taken to four hospitals, with three refusing admission and one providing only first aid.
