Smart Cities projects for Karnal and Faridabad extended till March 31, 2027

Funding provision under Smart Cities Mission

Both cities have received a total financial provision of ₹980 crore each, jointly funded by the Union government and the Haryana government in a 50:50 ratio, and the grants allocated have been successfully utilized.

Handover of completed projects to agencies

A number of completed projects have been handed over to the concerned departments: Faridabad Smart City Limited handed over 23 completed projects, while Karnal Smart City Limited handed over 83 projects to the respective agencies.

Karnal Smart City project has undertaken 122 projects worth ₹930 crore, with 86 projects already completed and several others in advanced stages of execution.

During the State-Level High-Powered Steering Committee (SLHPSC) meeting chaired by Haryana chief secretary Anurag Rastogi, the term of Karnal and Faridabad Smart Cities projects was extended to March 31, 2027 to ensure timely completion and smooth handing over of assets to the departments, in line with directions from the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs.
