Six cadres arrested across Manipur; weapons cache seized
On May 12, 2026, security forces conducted operations across Manipur and arrested six active cadres belonging to two banned outfits (RPF/PLA and KCP-Taibanganba) from different locations. During the operation, a large cache of weapons, including four different arms, including automatic rifles, 36 empty magazines of various arms, one 51-HE bomb, two para bombs, 11 detonators, four lathod shells, and 1,193 live rounds of ammunition of different calibres, was recovered. Different cases have been registered for further necessary legal actions.
KCP-Taibanganba cadre Leishangthem Obungo Singh arrested in Kakching district
In a separate incident, security forces arrested an active cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) (KCP-Taibanganba), Leishangthem Obungo Singh, 50, of Irengband Hawairou Awang Leikai, Kakching district, from his locality on May 11, 2026.
Four RPF/PLA cadres arrested in Nongada Chana area, Imphal East
Four cadres of the Revolutionary People’s Front/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) from the Nongada Chana area, Imphal East district, were arrested on May 11, 2026, as part of combined state and central security forces operations targeting extortion and criminal activities. Three youths, coerced and detained by the arrestees for recruitment into the outfit, were later rescued.
