Shramveer Gaurav Samaroh: UP announces wages, ₹5 lakh health cover and worker welfare measures

Workers have been provided the ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ facility, allowing them to access ration anywhere in the country.

In the last nine years, 18,000 new industries have been established in Uttar Pradesh, providing employment to more than 65 lakh people.

Under the CM Farmers Accident Insurance Scheme, workers are provided insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh, with assistance ranging from ₹700 to ₹1,000 crore provided annually to affected worker families.

The chief minister announced accident insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh for all industrial workers, similar to the coverage provided to construction and agricultural workers under the UP BOCW Board.

Expansion of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) dispensaries is underway.

At the Shramveer Gaurav Samaroh in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that industrial workers will receive fair wages and an accident insurance cover of ₹5 lakh. He said direct benefits of the scheme would reach at least 1 crore worker families (about 5 crore people) in the state. He indicated that ESIC dispensaries are being expanded, and linked a broader welfare framework including coverage under the UP BOCW Board and the CM Farmers Accident Insurance Scheme. He noted the nationwide One Nation-One Ration Card facility already exists for workers.

The establishment of Atal Residential Schools in 2023 was highlighted as a benchmark in worker-family education, with meritorious students of the first batch securing positions on the CBSE merit list and upholding their parents’ hard work.

Twelve crore toilets have been constructed across the country.

In the last 12 years (2014-2026), more than four crore people in the country have received housing, including 65 lakh UP families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Chief Minister Housing Scheme.
