Haryana to roll out industrial policy with incentives for ESDM and IT sectors
The Haryana government stated it is moving rapidly toward establishing the state as a global hub for electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), IT, animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics as part of an upcoming industrial policy. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini told industry leaders in Delhi that the policy will be highly attractive to investors in these emerging sectors and will accelerate large-scale employment generation, innovation, and cutting-edge technological development. He noted Haryana's robust infrastructure, strong connectivity, and industry-friendly environment as factors that could attract global investments. Saini added that the policy will position Haryana as a preferred destination for global companies, offering special incentives for ESDM firms including capital subsidies, tax benefits, skill development support, and ease of doing business provisions to facilitate establishment and expansion. Industry representatives suggested identifying futuristic products and select companies to support them in becoming global players, while promoting startup R&D and establishing centres of excellence to boost innovation. Attendees included Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, commissioner and secretary Amit Kumar Agrawal, and senior representatives from electronics and software export councils, Microsoft, TCS, Jindal Stainless, Precision Electronics, YSM Xerox Aviation, Ostik Pharma.
