Noida launches sewer-line and pumping-station projects in villages to curb sewer overflow

Residents voiced hardship due to deep digging and delays from ongoing works. Dr NK Rai of Sector 11 said water is flowing in their lane and the work has not finished in a week. Leele Baisoya of Agahpur complained that the authority keeps digging without resolving issues, while Amit Chauhan urged a long-term plan to handle growing population and infrastructure needs.

In Sarfabad, ₹1 crore will be spent on maintenance of 3,344.10 metres of pipes.

In Wazidpur, ₹1.64 crore will be spent on sewer line maintenance and replacement of old rusted pipes of 1,300 metres.

In Chhijarsi village, the authority will spend ₹1.65 crore on 1,280 metres of sewer line maintenance, replacing old pipes and other repair work.

In Baraula, the authority will establish a 10 million litre per day pumping station (10-metre deep) to pump sewer out of village lines and channelise it to the master sewer line; the project will cost ₹10 crore and include a 3,375 metre-long sewer line.

Foundation stone laid by Gautam Budh Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma and Noida MLA along with senior Noida Authority officials for projects to lay new sewer lines and install pumping stations in Barola, Sarfabad, Wazidpur, Hazipur and Chhikasri to address sewer overflow and rising population pressure.
