NIPUN Bharat Mission strengthening foundational edu: Minister

UP basic education minister Sandeep Singh stated that the Uttar Pradesh government is implementing the NIPUN Bharat Mission to foster foundational literacy and numeracy among children. He asserted that early education forms the foundation for a nation's future and that the government is working to ensure quality, inclusive, and modern education reaches every child. Singh spoke at a leadership conclave on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in Lucknow on Friday, with participation from education sector experts, teachers, and representatives from various institutions. He noted ongoing efforts to modernize basic education and make it technology-driven, including the establishment of smart classrooms, ICT labs, and digital libraries across thousands of schools to create a digital learning ecosystem. The minister said innovative teaching methodologies under the NIPUN Bharat Mission aim to improve language skills, mathematical abilities, and comprehension, with the objective that every child becomes proficient in reading, writing, and basic calculations at the foundational level. He added that the Yogi government is pursuing comprehensive education reforms to make the next generation self-reliant and competitive through technological innovations.
