LG Sinha links narcotics smuggling to terrorism and reports crackdown
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said narcotics smuggling is no less than terrorism and that drug traffickers will be treated under the law the same way terrorists are. He noted that in the last 20 days about 350 FIRs were registered and 440 drug traffickers were arrested. He added that every drug smuggler, local peddler, and member of a drug syndicate will be identified and put behind bars, and that the government will not rest until these networks are dismantled. He also called for a whole-of-government effort in the remaining 80 days and urged citizen participation to help make Jammu and Kashmir free of drug addiction.
