Ajay, identified as a resident of Mauli Jagran in Chandigarh, was arrested in a joint Mohali police–AGTF operation in connection with the April 18 gangster module case. A .32-calibre pistol and five live cartridges were seized. Police said Ajay allegedly supplied weapons to the arrested accused and provided logistical support on directions of handlers based abroad, and he had been working for foreign-based handlers for about a year. He was traced to the Ghaggar bridge area in Mubarakpur (Dera Bassi) and arrested after he attempted to flee, sustaining a leg injury. The arrest is linked to an FIR registered at the Dera Bassi police station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
