MCG cleans 408km of drains, aims to desilt 473km by May-end
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) reports that 408 km of the city’s 607 km drainage network have been desilted and targets completing 473 km by May 31, ahead of the monsoon. Residents report delays and incomplete work in several sectors, while tenders for pending works are being floated. A directive from ULB officials earlier in April urged urgent, coordinated action to prevent flooding.
Why It Matters
Proper desilting reduces the risk of urban flooding during the upcoming monsoon and reflects on the effectiveness and accountability of civic administration.
