LG visits ICCC to review Summer Action Plan and heatwave mitigation measures
New Delhi Lt Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre at Palika Kendra to review the Summer Action Plan and ongoing heatwave mitigation measures. The L-G’s official X handle described the NDMC command centre as the digital nerve center using IoT-based systems to integrate services from water management to environmental monitoring. He emphasized that technology-enabled governance has replication potential for urban local bodies, but the priority must be strong on-ground execution to protect vulnerable communities and frontline workers. Officials noted that NDMC has issued a special circular directing departments to ensure ORS packets, safe drinking water, protective gear, and revised working hours for field staff to minimise exposure during peak heat hours, along with extensive public awareness campaigns. The administration is committed to strengthening resilient and citizen-centric urban governance.
