Kejriwal flags timeline of Delhi judge Sharma and her children's legal postings

Kejriwal released a video message and a four-page letter to Justice Sharma detailing reasons for refusing to appear before her in the excise policy case. He outlined a 'sequence of events' and alleged conflicts of interest involving the judge’s children, noting: the son was empanelled as Union Group A counsel for the Supreme Court in September 2022; the daughter was later empanelled as Group C panel counsel for the Supreme Court; the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta allegedly decides how many and which cases are assigned to the judge’s children; he claimed the son received a very high number of dockets (5,904) between 2023 and 2025, with each docket carrying an appearance fee of ₹9,000 per day. He stated that the CBI is the opposite party in the matter. The judge’s son and daughter have not responded to these assertions.

Justice Sharma refused to recuse from the excise policy case despite Kejriwal's in-person and virtual appearances in court over the preceding week.

About five months after her elevation, in September 2022, her son was empanelled as the Union’s Group A counsel for the Supreme Court.
