The Karnataka government announced a matrix for the 15% reservation for Scheduled Castes. It allocates 5.25% to Category 1 (Madigas and allied castes/Dalit left) and 5.25% to Category 2 (Holeyas and allied castes/Dalit right), and 4.5% to Category 3 (Bhovi, Lambani, Korama, Koracha and 59 nomadic communities).
