Iran's Warning of All-Out War Over Attacks on Khamenei: Escalating US-Iran Tensions

President Trump responded to Khamenei's warnings by escalating rhetoric, saying it was time to look for new leadership in Iran and accusing Khamenei of destroying the country through extreme violence.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a rare admission, acknowledged that several thousand people were killed during nationwide protests. He accused the United States and Israel of orchestrating the unrest and described Trump as a criminal for supporting demonstrators.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned in a post on X that any attack on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would amount to a declaration of all-out war against the Iranian nation. He linked Iran's economic hardships to US sanctions and hostility.

US President Donald Trump issued a public warning that if Iran moves ahead with its nuclear or missile plans, the response will be overwhelming military force. Trump stated he would support Israeli strikes on Iran if it continues with missile or nuclear development.

Ali Shamkhani, a senior aide to Supreme Leader Khamenei, warned that any new aggression would draw a harsher response. He stated that Iran's missile and defensive capabilities would meet any act of aggression with a harsh, immediate response beyond the imagination of its planners.

Iranian President responded to Israeli attacks, promising a legitimate and powerful response to what it called a foolish act of aggression, vowing that Iran would respond decisively to any further attacks.

The United States-Iran nuclear negotiations deadline expired without an agreement being reached. Israel subsequently launched a surprise military offensive on June 13, followed by US strikes on June 22 targeting key nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow.
