In northern districts, the Dravidian majors fight the TVK wave

In Tamil Nadu's northern districts, DMK and AIADMK won many seats while TVK continued its 'giant killer' act but won fewer seats than in Chennai and surrounding areas. In Katpadi, DMK veteran Duraimurugan finished third as TVK's Dr. M. Sudhakar won the seat.
