Himachal CM launches digital gate pass system and Unified Digital Calendar platform

Sukhu directed that QR code-based payment facilities be introduced to ensure that people do not face inconvenience while making bookings, with the facility to be introduced across the state for circuit house bookings.

He directed that the initiative be launched on a pilot basis at Himachal Bhawan, Delhi, and reviewed the ongoing construction of Himachal Niketan in Delhi, instructing that the project be completed before June 15.

Sukhu stressed the need for improved cleanliness and nutritious, quality food for visitors. He directed the Public Works Department to carry out maintenance and repair of bhawans and urged a professional approach in managing government properties to provide better facilities to the public staying there.

The platform would serve as the primary interface for the Chief Minister's Office and provide a framework for managing professional calendars of government officers across the State. It would allow departments to submit meeting requests through a centralised digital platform; once approved, calendars would synchronise with concerned officers and instant notifications would be sent to the respective departments.

Sukhu launched the integrated platform named Unified Digital Calendar and Appointment Management System, aimed at streamlining appointment scheduling and official meeting coordination with the Chief Minister.

The system incorporates OTP-based authentication and Aadhaar-enabled face authentication. Security personnel will carry out entry verification by scanning barcodes on the digitally generated gate passes.

A digital gate pass system was introduced alongside the existing entry mechanism at the Himachal Pradesh State Secretariat to streamline meetings with the Chief Minister. The online system automatically generates a downloadable digital gate pass, eliminating manual paperwork. For visitors arriving without prior appointments, gate passes can be generated directly at the reception.
