HC grants bail to Punjab YouTuber arrested on charges of spying for Pak ISI

His counsel argued that the initiation of proceedings stemmed from content posted on the YouTube channel.

The court observed that Singh operated a YouTube channel named 'Jaan Mahal' with travel and vlog videos. It noted that mobile data retrieval showed no chats or communications reflecting contact with any Pakistani national and that the content appeared public, with no evidence of access to or dissemination of sensitive information. The court also considered his ten months in custody and clean antecedents.

The Punjab-based YouTuber Jasbir Singh of Rupnagar was arrested on June 3, 2025, on charges of spying for Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Police said he was associated with a Pakistani intelligence operative.

A Pakistan High Commission official in Delhi was expelled on spying charges in 2024. Jasbir Singh was later reported to be associated with a Pakistani intelligence operative and was in contact with this official.
