Two high-intensity IEDs were planted in two abandoned houses in Tronglaobi village, Bishnupur district, under Moirang police station. The CID (Technical) team, requested by Moirang police, diffused the bombs around 12:45 pm and handed them over to Moirang police station; a case was registered.

Grenade hurled at airline manager’s residence in Imphal

May 11, 2026

Around 12:45 am, unidentified persons hurled a 36-hand grenade at the residence of an IndiGo airline manager in Kongpal Khaidem Leikai, Imphal East. The grenade did not explode; a bomb disposal squad diffused it, seized the explosive, and handed it over to Porompat police station. The explosive was found inside a room of the residence.

KCP IED attack outside Imphal airport

May 3, 2026

The Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), a banned underground outfit, planted an IED that exploded outside the Imphal International airport campus near a new cargo terminal. The outfit said the blast was a warning against those imposing bandh, blockade and shutdown that affect daily wage earners, students, and the public, and against airline managers alleged to be involved in cargo smuggling of tobacco and liquor.
