GMDA to launch flood control room, underpass drills from May 15
GMDA will set up a round-the-clock flood control room at Sector 44 and conduct mock drills at 23 underpasses from May 15 as part of monsoon preparedness. The drills will test pumping machinery, DG sets, drainage systems, and desilting work across NHAI, DLF, and PWD underpasses.

PWD-maintained underpasses drills schedule
PWD-maintained underpasses at Atul Kataria Chowk, Mahavir Chowk and Dhanwapur are scheduled for May 22, May 25 and May 18, respectively. Drills will involve testing pumping machinery, drainage systems and sump cleaning operations, with fire tenders deployed where required.
DLF underpasses drills schedule
DLF underpasses, including both U-turn underpasses in Cyber City, are scheduled for May 18; Sikanderpur for May 19; and DLF Phase I for May 20. Drills will include testing of pumping equipment, DG sets, drainage systems and sump cleaning as part of monsoon readiness.
NHAI-maintained underpass drills schedule (May 15 onwards)
Detailed schedules for mock drills at NHAI-maintained underpasses: Ambience Mall, Subhash Chowk and Shankar Chowk on May 15; IFFCO Chowk on May 18; Signature Tower and Vatika Chowk on May 19; Rajiv Chowk, Medanta Road and HUDA City Centre on May 20; Hero Honda Chowk and Genpact on May 21; Sector 110/113 and Sector 109/110 on May 26; Sector 102/104 on May 28; Sector 84/36B on May 29. Drills will test pumping machinery, diesel generator sets, drainage systems and sump cleaning; fire tenders may be deployed for testing as required.
GMDA to set up 24x7 flood control room and begin monsoon readiness
GMDA will establish a round-the-clock flood control room at its Sector 44 office to monitor rainfall-related situations, coordinate resource deployment, and address public grievances throughout the monsoon. The authority will deploy manpower, machinery, tractor-mounted pumps, suction tankers, DG sets and other pumping equipment at critical locations to tackle flooding, and has intensified desilting and cleaning of the drainage network, including drain inlets and gullies, to ensure quick discharge of storm water.
