GDA approves joint-venture for ICS stadium and land procurement for Aerocity township
Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) approved a 50:50 joint venture with UPCA to develop the International Cricket Stadium near Raj Nagar Extension, and sanctioned ₹2,813 crore for an Aerocity-themed township land procurement. The stadium, estimated at ₹600-650 crore with 35,000 seats and a sports academy, will be built over about three years, with boundary-wall work already started. The Aerocity project will use land pooling involving Morti, Ator, and Mevla Agri villages, with further land options under direct purchase or the LARR Act, and phase-1 of Harnandipuram township near ICS is expected in Sep/Oct 2026.
Why It Matters
The decisions advance Ghaziabad’s infrastructure and sports development, potentially boosting investment, tourism, and urban growth around a new international cricket stadium and a themed township.
