IMD forecast for Apr 28-29; possible rain and relief ahead

April 28, 2026

The India Meteorological Department’s local forecast indicated heatwave conditions may continue, with the day’s temperatures expected to dip only to around 39-40°C. The IMD forecasted partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on April 28 and 29. Skymet Weather suggested the heatwave could ease soon due to a weak western disturbance moving over the Himalayas, and another system potentially triggering pre-monsoon activity in north India, bringing thunderstorm activity, dust-filled winds, and a slight fall in temperatures.
