Response and upgrades announced (public update)
Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVNL) officials said transformer upgrades from 25kV to higher-capacity utilities are underway in growing sectors. They also noted that single-core cables have been replaced with insulated wires in Om Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, and Shivaji Nagar, with double circuits provided along Pataudi Road. Field teams are working in three shifts around the clock to restore supplies and address outages linked to overhead breakdowns, jumper burns, and weather-related issues.
Continuation and partial restoration into May 12
Normal supply was restored around 11 pm on May 12, with some societies continuing to experience intermittent disruptions due to internal power supply issues. Officials cited feeder restoration challenges as a key reason for the ongoing outages in Sector 37D.
First major outage in Sector 37D (prelude to the May incident)
Outage in Sector 37D began around 2–3 pm as a 33kV underground feeder supplying Ramprastha City and Signature Global societies developed a fault by about 4 pm, allegedly due to overloading. The outage affected thousands of residents (about 5,000 families). Diesel backups were limited to common areas. Supply started to be restored to some areas by 12:58 am on May 12, but intermittent disruptions persisted due to internal infrastructure issues.

At least 11 societies between sectors 99 and 102 faced outages lasting up to about 30 hours after an underground feeder was damaged at two locations during unauthorised high-intensity drilling work by a contractor, according to residents.
