May 2026: PF withdrawal via ATM/UPI rollout expected
ET Now reports that PF withdrawals via ATMs and UPI will be rolled out by the end of May 2026 as part of EPFO 3.0. The rollout is expected to be fully completed by mid-2026, with EPFO issuing EPF-linked ATM cards, enabling balance checks on UPI, direct transfers to a preferred bank account, and secure updates to EPF accounts via OTP verification. Subscribers must have an active UAN with linked KYC documents (Aadhaar, PAN, bank account number, and IFSC).
April 2026: Mandaviya cites EPFO claims data
Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in April 2026 that EPFO settled 83.1 million claims in FY 2025-26, up from 60.1 million in FY25. Of these, 5.51 crore claims were for advance or partial withdrawals, and 71.11% of advance claims were processed within 3 days in automatic mode (vs. 59.19% last year).
