DMRC forms DMIL and appoints Sanjay Jamuar as first CEO to run international metro projects

Sanjay Jamuar brings experience across Indian Railways, DMRC, and international work in the UK, USA, France, the Middle East, and Europe. He holds a postgraduate diploma in strategic leadership from Warwick Business School, UK, and has conducted research at Leeds University in transport economics. DMIL's mandate includes offering advisory services to authorities and lenders to help develop, improve, and prepare long-term metro and transit plans.

DMRC remains involved in operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts for the Chennai, Mumbai, and Patna metro projects and has acted as a consultant for nearly all major metro projects in India. DMRC has also undertaken construction work for metro projects in Mumbai, Jaipur, and Patna, and is currently engaged as a consultant on the Dhaka Metro project in Bangladesh.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) establishes a separate entity, Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), with the support of the Central government, and appoints former Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer Sanjay Jamuar as its first chief executive officer (CEO). DMIL will assist and set up metro projects outside Delhi and abroad.
