Delhi to set up Karmik Sewa Kendras across city to aid construction workers
The Delhi government will set up Karmik Sewa Kendras (KSKs) modeled on the Passport Seva Kendra framework to register construction workers and deliver welfare schemes. The Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has begun engaging an agency to design and develop 13 static and 13 mobile KSKs, to serve migrant and local labour populations, and 39 Labour Chowks in 13 districts to facilitate welfare schemes. The initiative targets about 30 lakh workers and aims to improve accessibility, reduce wait times, and maintain records of workers from registration to end of membership, with AI-based Digital Seva Kendras and self-help kiosks at centres. Mobile KSKs will extend reach to rural areas, while static KSKs will cater to urban and semi-urban areas.
