Gulzar alias Sonu, a resident of Palam Village, was arrested by Delhi Police after sustained surveillance and a tip-off that he would visit Palam village. He had been absconding since the October 2024 incident and was part of the gang that assaulted the boy. He was arrested under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and Section 118-1 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

October 5, 2024: Assault in Palam

On October 5, 2024, four men—Ajay, Neeraj, Kamal and Gulzar—allegedly subjected a boy in the Palam area to physical and sexual assault at gunpoint; Gulzar was armed with a pistol and threatened to kill the victim. The victim sustained injuries and later lost consciousness; a passerby found him and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, after which a case was registered.
