Delhi Murder Autopsy Reveals Ex-Help's Brutality, Woman's Fight To Save Life

Post-mortem examination found facial injuries from a blunt object, a broken nasal bone, and abrasions and bruises on the arms, hands and legs, indicating a struggle. There was bleeding in the neck muscles and fractures in parts of the thyroid cartilage, pointing to death by asphyxia due to strangulation. Several samples—viscera, nail scrapings, blood samples and swabs—were preserved for forensic testing to confirm whether the attack involved sexual assault.

The woman was raped and murdered in Delhi on Wednesday morning by her family's former domestic helper, Rahul Meena, who gained access with a spare key. Police say he hit her with a heavy object and strangled her using a mobile charging cable, and they suspect sexual assault while she was unconscious. He dragged her from a rooftop room to downstairs, attempted to open a locker with her fingerprint, failed, and broke the locker with a screwdriver to steal cash and jewellery. He changed his blood-stained clothes and fled. CCTV shows him entering the colony around 6:30 am and leaving at 7:20 am, shortly before the parents returned.

Hours before the Delhi murder, the accused allegedly raped his friend's wife in Rajasthan's Alwar, according to police statements. The report places this assault in the context of the same day’s events.
