Delhi Metro floats EOI to produce platform screen doors in India

DMRC issued an Expression of Interest inviting Indian companies to jointly manufacture platform screen doors domestically. This follows a 2025 directive to manufacture PSDs in India and aims to reduce reliance on imports as Phase-4 and Phase-5 expansion proceed. Current PSD deployment across Delhi Metro includes a mix of half-height and full-height doors, with various lines already equipped or retrofitted.

Why It Matters

This move advances Make in India and could lower procurement costs and improve supply reliability for safety infrastructure in Delhi Metro.
