Ranjana Babu Keskar underwent laparoscopic sterilisation at Kedgaon Primary Health Centre as part of a family planning camp. She was admitted around 8:30 am, the procedure was completed by 9:45 am, and she developed dizziness with a sharp drop in blood pressure soon after. She was referred to a private hospital in Varvand and then Sassoon General Hospital, but died around 6:00 pm before reaching Sassoon. A medico-legal case was registered.
