The Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India (RG&CCI) directed State Directorates to identify and prepare lists of villages, habitats and population segments vulnerable to threat, intimidation or interference during the ongoing Census 2027, and urged that enumerators with bias toward specific social or religious communities should be avoided as far as possible to prevent counter-productive fieldwork.
