Arrest of Nida Khan in Nashik TCS case sparks war of words between Sena minister and AIMIM leader

Imtiaz Jaleel said Shirsat was acting as if he were the police and the court, and stated he would not pay heed to the guardian minister’s remarks. He questioned who was investigating and whether the guardian minister was conducting police work. He noted there is no look-out notice or non-bailable case against Khan and argued that involvement in terror activities would have prompted police action. Jaleel said he would talk to party office-bearers and the police about Matin Patel’s alleged role in hiding Khan and would cooperate with authorities; he also criticized media trials and suggested Khan could approach higher courts if needed.

Sanjay Shirsat, guardian minister of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and a Shiv Sena leader, alleged that AIMIM and its former MP Imtiaz Jaleel had openly supported Khan and made statements in her favour. He called for a probe through the SIT to expose the mastermind, claimed AIMIM has a Maharashtra‑wide network, and demanded investigations into the source of money behind unemployed youths in the city.

Police said AIMIM corporator Matin Patel allegedly harboured Khan and her family in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Nida Khan, an accused in the Nashik TCS case, was arrested and taken into custody in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Nashik police is probing nine cases of molestation and harassment at the TCS unit. The police had previously arrested eight persons, including a female operations manager, in connection with allegations of exploitation, attempt of forceful conversion, hurting religious sentiments, molestation and mental harassment of female employees. Khan is accused of targeting employees in a WhatsApp group, pressuring them to pray and eat non-vegetarian food, and advising women to dress and behave in accordance with Islamic traditions.
