APSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Sivasankar Lotheti announced on May 15, 2026 that prepaid smart meters will be provided to government electricity services across Tirupati, Nellore, Chittoor, Annamayya, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapuram and Sri Sathya Sai districts, with the start of this rollout scheduled for June 1.
